BROWNS FISHMONGERS

Traditional Smoking is our business

A tradition in 'Smoking' for over 70 years, using old tried and tested methods, no expensive machinery, just that proper, personal touch that can only say quality. Continuing a family tradition of only using chippings from locally felled trees, we offer a unique taste to our fish, which would be hard to beat.

Fordingbridge circa 1930

Local man Bob Curtis has worked as  Head smoker for 'Browns' for over 40 years, renowned for his professionalism and quality throughout England and Scotland, he has smoked fish for local fisherman and the Gentry alike.  The new manager of 'Browns' is a former local Gamekeeper and Fisherman, John Farrant, affectionately known as 'Henry' to his friends.   He has worked all over the South and South west of England, running Shoots(which he still does) and even building up the rundown Eel staging on th river Avon just outside Ringwood. With over 20 years experience you can be assured that 'Browns' is in safe hands and the high standards you have come to know and enjoy remain.
